Nobels MOD-mini
Compact Stereo Modulation Pedal
A journey back in time, the new Nobels MOD-mini combines an outstanding selection of modulation effects in a deceivingly compact housing. Featuring intuitive switching and versatile option for seamless performance, the MOD-mini brings infectious modulation to your signal.
Providing a skilfully curated selection of ageless modulation effects, MOD-mini delivers a wealth of sonic possibilities, with either a mono or spacious stereo image. The achievable tones are far beyond the pedal’s modest footprint making it an excellent addition to any type of setup.
Main Features:
• Mini Stereo Modulation Pedal
• Three distinct Modulation modes: Tremolo, Phaser and U-Vibe
• Tap Tempo
• Selectable Mono or Stereo (via TRS) inputs and outputs
• Selectable True or Buffered Bypass modes
• Glow in the Dark pointer knobs
• Metal Enclosure
• Includes 4 x Integrated fold-out Mounty-P Mounting Plates
• Powered by (opt.) 9 V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1mm, ~ 100 mA current draw, not included)
The MOD-mini features three carefully crafted, yet distinct flavours of modulation. All three modes faithfully capture those iconic modulation tones that have shaped music across genres, past and present and are simply selected by the pedal’s convenient mode switch, right on the face of the pedal. From the pulsating Tremolo of the swinging 60s to the funky Phaser and U-Vibe grooves of the 70s, MOD-mini takes you into a sonic time warp.
Adding to its flexibility, the MOD-mini features full tap tempo functionality, but in a single switch design. Simply holding the footswitch for approximately two seconds enters the pedal into “Tap Tempo Mode”, following which the pedal will respond to rhythmic tapping instantly. Further defying expectations based on its compact appearance, there are dedicated toggles for selection between mono and stereo (TRS) operation as well as true or buffered bypass modes, making the pedal suitable for almost any musical situation, anywhere, any time.
As with all other current Nobels pedals, the MOD-mini features 4 integrated Mounty-P Mounting Plates for safe and secure attachment to pedalboards. With its full metal enclosure and Glow in the Dark pointer knobs, the MOD-mini is a pint-sized powerhouse that’s built for performance!
The NOBELS concept was very innovative and ingeniously simple: Offering great sounds with clever ideas and at a reasonable price. Bernhard Kurzke and electronics technician Kai Tachibana created a range of useful tools out of the ground. There was a series of effects pedals, plus programmable multi-effects, MIDI foot controllers, good-sounding practice amps and the “Little Helpers”. These were small boxes for the pedalboard: mixers, splitters, A / B switches, loop-in paths, MIDI switchers, DI boxes … so small and inexpensive, the little helpers were a real revolution. Those who wanted to produce cheaply back then had to go to Taiwan, Korea and China. Bernhard Kurzke flew there: The adventure of starting production in the then underdeveloped countries can fill an entire book. At the same time, Bernhard built up a worldwide sales network for Nobels effects and presented the devices at over 90 international trade fairs.
