ESI M4U eX MIDI Interface

2.390,-

High Performance USB 3.0 MIDI with automatic I/O detection M4U eX is a compact and yet extremely powerful USB 3.0 MIDI interface with 8 MIDI ports. Each of the 8 ports can either be used as a MIDI input or as a MIDI output, replacing not only traditional MIDI interfaces like it's popular predecessor models with 4 inputs and 4 outputs, but providing also other possible configurations. For instance, you can use up to 8 outputs at a time or up to 8 inputs, or 6 outputs and 2 inputs - to name some examples. And the best feature? This is all handled automatically, simply based on your connection to other MIDI inputs or MIDI outputs and each automatic input / output configuration is displayed via colored LEDs on the front panel. M4U eX is not only one of the worlds first USB 3.0 MIDI interfaces, it also includes a USB 3.0 hub with 3 connectors for other USB equipment like software dongles or USB keyboards and others. This can literally turn this device into the central hub for your MIDI and USB musical instrument devices. The class compliant device can be bus powered or if needed for other USB devices, be powered by the included DC power supply. The Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 and macOS compatible device provides not only perfect timing and the highest low latency performance of any MIDI interface in it's class on the market today, it can even be used fully standalone without a computer: different operation modes allow you to route input to output signals, merge MIDI signals or use M4U eX as a MIDI thru box. These modes can be selected with the push of a button when needed. If the 8 ports are not enough, you can connect multiple units to the computer at one time - plus there is also the larger M8U eX available, with 16 ports. Features USB 3.0 MIDI interface 100% class compliant, works without the installation of a driver USB bus powered 8 MIDI ports, 4 on the front and 4 on the back automatic input and output detection, each port works as a MIDI input or MIDI output standalone operation possible can be used as MIDI Thru box in standalone mode to send one MIDI signal to 7 outputs can be used as MIDI merger in standalone mode to merge 7 MIDI signals to a single output 3-port USB 3.0 hub with external 5V DC power supply to power USB devices (power supply included) multiple units can be used with one computer at a time downwards compatible to USB 2.0 with a USB 2.0 legacy mode optional ESI MIDI Port driver for multi device / multi client operation under Windows available dimensions roughly 17.5cm x 12.0cm x 4.5cm   Here are selected reviews of M4U eX:   11/2019 Paul Vnuk Jr. wrote a detailed RECORDING review of M4U eX and M8U eX: "Both the ESU M4U eX and M8U eX are well built, rock-solid boxes with old school MIDI connectivity for days all with a modern USB 3.0 edge and workflow. Nicely done." - you can check the full text here as PDF.         In the 10/2019 issue of Beat (Germany), Jan Wilking wrote about our M4U eX: "The sturdy and nifty MIDI interface can be used with the computer and standalone and provides innovative features at an affordable price" - you can read / download the full German review as PDF here.         The famous Russian technology review site ProSound/iXBT published a very comprehensive positive review of our M4U eX and M8U eX written by Maxim Liadov. You can find the complete review in Russian language here.         The September 2018 Sound & Recording (Germany) contains a review of M4U eX from Axel Latta: "The new ESI interface provides good build quality (...) there is a high flexibility for integration into your own setup." - you can read / download the full German review as PDF here.
ESI M8U eX MIDI Interface

16 professional MIDI ports, USB 3.0, automatic I/O and more Our stylish and very powerful M8U eX is a modern USB 3.0 MIDI interface with a total of 16 MIDI ports in one single device. Featuring the popular MIDI auto detection technology that was pioneered by ESI, each of these 16 ports can either be used as a MIDI input or as a MIDI output, replacing not only regular MIDI interfaces like our previous popular legacy multi port MIDI interfaces with 8 inputs and 8 outputs, but providing also other possible configurations: for instance, you can use up to 16 outputs at a time or up to 16 inputs, or any other combination, like 12 outputs and 4 inputs. Each automatic input / output configuration is displayed via colored LEDs on the front panel. If the number of ports is not enough, you can hook up multiple M8U eX to the same computer - a feature that is made easy also via the integrated fast USB 3.0 hub that allows you to connect other USB equipment like software dongles or USB keyboards and others to your computer. This literally turns M8U eX into the central hub for the MIDI and USB devices in your studio or live performance setup. The 100% fully class compliant device can even be bus powered (or if needed for other USB devices, it is powered via the included 5V DC power supply) and it works out of the box without the installation of additional drivers on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and macOS systems (both 32-bit and 64-bit). Yet, there is more: it also works as a standalone Thru and Merge solution for your MIDI devices. Selected via a push button on the front panel, M8U eX provides various configurations allowing you to merge multiple MIDI signals and send them out to a single port or to send out signals through multiple ports that are coming in from just one - all based on your individual needs. All this makes our M8U eX easily the most powerful USB MIDI interface existing on the market today. If 16 ports are more than what you need, there is also the smaller M4U eX available, with 8 ports. Features USB 3.0 MIDI interface 100% class compliant, works without the installation of a driver USB bus powered 16 MIDI ports, 8 on the front and 8 on the back automatic input and output detection, each port works as a MIDI input or MIDI output standalone operation possible can be used as MIDI Thru box in standalone mode to send one MIDI signal to 15 outputs can be used as MIDI merger in standalone mode to merge 15 MIDI signals to a single output 3-port USB 3.0 hub with external 5V DC power supply to power USB devices (power supply included) multiple units can be used with one computer at a time downwards compatible to USB 2.0 with a USB 2.0 legacy mode optional ESI MIDI Port driver for multi device / multi client operation under Windows available dimensions roughly 32.5cm x 14.5cm x 4.5cm Reviews and Testimonials:     11/2019 Paul Vnuk Jr. wrote a detailed RECORDING review of M4U eX and M8U eX: "Both the ESU M4U eX and M8U eX are well built, rock-solid boxes with old school MIDI connectivity for days all with a modern USB 3.0 edge and workflow. MIDI Solutions Breath Controller The MIDI Solutions Breath Controller was originally designed as a breath to MIDI converter for use with the Yamaha BC3A Breath Controller. Yamaha is no longer producing the BC3A, however Kelfar Technologies is now producing a breath control device that is compatible with the MIDI Solutions Breath Controller, for more information see the Kelfar BCK-1. The MIDI Solutions Breath Controller will also accept older Yamaha BC2 units. The MIDI Solutions Breath Controller generates continuous MIDI data corresponding to the amount of breath pressure applied to the attached breath control device. The Breath Controller can be programmed to send: Aftertouch Pitch Bend Control Change System Exclusive The Breath Controller includes a MIDI Echo parameter that is selectable on/off. Another unique feature of the Breath Controller is its ability to add a variable amount of curvature to the response of the applied pressure of the BC3A. This allows you to correct for a nonlinear response, or to add greater response at one end of the breath range compared to the other. The Breath Controller is programmed by sending it MIDI System Exclusive messages (read the Programming FAQs for more details). This is easily done with the MIDI Solutions Programming Tools software. Once programmed, the Breath Controller's settings are retained even after power is removed. The Breath Controller can be reprogrammed with new settings as often as needed. The Breath Controller's factory default settings are for it to send CC #7 (volume) on MIDI channel 1, with the Echo parameter set to ON. The Breath Controller is MIDI-powered, and requires no batteries or power supply to operate with most MIDI products (for more information read the Power FAQs).
