That´s how most owners have described it - it just plain works for a lot of different music styles and they haven´t found a similar sound in many other pedals. In fact, there´s  a story about a player that bought and sold six Mudhoney´s, before realizing that the pedals he replaced it with weren´t doing it for him, so he got the seventh one – and kept it. The slightly aggressive and punchy sounding midrange paired up with a gain mode switch gives you great, natural rock grit – but with the ability to be almost fuzz-like on high gain settings. Conversely, on low gain settings, the sound is really cool for a nastier, growlier rhythm sound. Tsakalis Audioworks Six Booster, Overdrive, Distortion For many years we have wanted to create a truly mind-blowing overdrive / distortion pedal that would be small and practical yet would offer huge powerful tones, natural feel and flexibility. And of course, to do that we needed reference. So we decided to combine all the good stuff found in the legendary Timmy, Blues Breaker and King Of Tone pedals, and try to come up with that extra something that would take things even further. The Six - Booster, Overdrive, Distortion is the culmination of a long period of modifying and prototyping and countless hours of testing and swapping ICs, capacitors and diodes. Not willing to stop experimenting until we had a pedal that would really speak to us in the studio and on stage, we decided to completely nerd out and try some unconventional methods. It was during this process that we discovered something really innovative… Looking for that magic ingredient, we decided to think out of the box and removed all the capacitors from the audio path (coupling capacitors), which resulted in a more natural feel than ever before and respect to the original tone of the guitar without any added compression or color that would be coming from the coupling capacitors. By applying what we call cap-less technology®, you can really hear the character of your instrument and consequently your own hands! Developed in 1959, the AC30’s iconic chime and edgy sound has been widely used, starting in the 60s and 70s, and continuing to today's music. GAIN knob: Adjusts the amount of distortion. Brian has added further gain capabilities to this circuit, and added a bass control that controls all the harmonics from smooth and creamy to tight and crunchy. Wampler - Brad Paisley OD Brad Paisley er et riktig tungvekternavn i moderne Country musikk. Brad og Brian Wampler har gjennom årene hatt en hel del sammarbeid som blandt annet resulterte i en overdrivepedal som Brad synes låter veldig lik hans Trainwreck forsterker. It's true, at a gig Brian once threw a modified pedal at the feet of Brad Paisley in the hope that he would pick it up and try it. Fortunately for us, and you, Brad’s tech picked it up, played it - digged it and gave it to Brad who took it away and LOVED it. From that point on, he has used and loved Wampler Pedals. After a few years of using our pedals (Ego, Underdog and Faux AnalogEcho) Brad’s tech at the time, Chad, mentioned to Brian that Brad wasn’t 100% content with his tone and maybe we should all work together to make the perfect overdrive for Brad to record and tour with. His requirements were quite "simple"… it needs to be clean but get crunchy with some "beef" to it. It needs to have a fluid tone when soloing. It needs to add a little hair to the tone but then but then has to be able to give flat out ball busting gain, oh… but please do not wreck the tonality. It needs to have everything, in a pedal format, but do not make it sound like a pedal! Over a period of months, Brian made some circuits and sent them off, there were a couple of "tweaks" here and there to be made and then finally, when official "prototype v2.0" landed, it went straight into the live rack and out on the 2010 "Brad Paisley: H20" world tour. Brad Paisley: "…we actually recorded this (pedal) in the studio, you know, trying it out. I turned up a Trainwreck Amp that I’ve got and compared the sound of the distortion and it was very, very similar. And that’s a very good test because any time a pedal can mimic a great overdriven amp then you’re on to something…"
